After winning the local cricket competition, the girls were really looking forward to playing at the Ageas Bowl, in the county finals. Despite playing some fantastic cricket we possibly let nerves get the better of us as we narrowly lost our two opening group games by 2 and 4 runs. As the pressure eased after missing out on challenging for county winners, the team started to make less mistakes and grow in confidence. They narrowly lost again by 5 runs before putting in a flawless performance in their final game of the day and winning by a convincing 16 runs. Despite results not going as the girls would have liked, they all really enjoyed the day out at the Ageas Bowl and testing themselves against other schools at a higher level. It's amazing how well the girls played and what they have achieved, especially as many had never played cricket before PE this year.
